S'LICHOT PROGRAM AND SERVICE (multi-access)
Saturday, September 13, 7:00 p.m.
In order to do something important, we need preparation, practice, and focus. S’lichot provides an inspirational and aspirational way to begin the High Holy Day season. It gives us an opportunity to reflect, discuss, and reacquaint ourselves with the melodies and message of the Holy Days.
This year's program? Let's talk about psalms! You're invited to join us this Saturday evening for both the program and service. We will conclude with changing our colorful Torah covers and decor to their Holy Day whites.
HIGH HOLY DAYS
L’Shanah tovah tikateivu! May you be inscribed for a good year.
Our High Holy Day services are right around the corner, and we hope you're just as excited as we are to come together! S'lichot is this Saturday, September 13, and Rosh HaShanah is soon to follow.
There is still time to mark your calendars and register for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur passes if you aren't a member! Passes will be mailed to you if you register by the September 16 deadline. Register here!
If you're a member of Temple Beth El, you should've received your pass in the mail—if you didn't get the High Holy Days booklet, contact the office. If you have family members in town that would also like to attend services, or if you are a member of another synagogue, please contact Teddy at frontdesk@tbetacoma.org about passes.
We are pleased to offer childcare for children ages six months through six years of age for several of our holiday services. The deadline for childcare registration is Sunday, September 14 and reservations are mandatory. The cost is $18 per child, per session. We will provide light snacks and activities to keep the kids engaged. For more information and to sign up, click here.
For the full schedule of services, non-member registration, Book of Remembrance submissions, and more information about the High Holy Day Food Drive, please visit the High Holy Day page of the TBE website.

BREAK-THE-FAST Thursday, October 2, following N'ilah and Yizkor services
Sisterhood warmly invites you to join us for Break-the-Fast in the social hall, immediately following Yom Kippur N'ilah and Yizkor services. Let's share in community as we enjoy a reprieve from fasting. We are gratefully accepting side dishes and desserts for this special meal—please drop off contributions in the temple kitchen by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2. Ensure dishes are labeled with your name and serving instructions, and note that dishes must be dairy or pareve and peanut-free (no meat, peanuts, or peanut oil).
We also welcome volunteers to help set up and clean up the social hall. If you're looking to help out, contact Sisterhood at sisterhood@tbetacoma.org.

BECOME A BUDDY FOR NEW MEMBERS

HIGH HOLY DAYS FOOD DRIVE
Food security is a huge concern in Pierce County, with 1 in 10 wondering where their next meal will come from. We encourage everyone to raise donations for the Emergency Food Network (EFN), a local program supporting this struggle. At our holiday services, and during September, you can collect a bag to fill with items the EFN has listed as most crucial (including non-perishables, feminine products, and baby care items). You can also participate by making a monetary donation—help TBE raise our $5,000 goal by checking out our EFN page.
