Purim Carnival and M’gillah Reading
Our annual Purim Carnival and Kid’s Purim Spiel will be held on Sunday, March 5. Families are asked to please arrive at 9:45 a.m. This event is open to the TBE community and guests by invite only (not open to the general public for safety reasons). Hamantaschen will be available for purchase as part of our BETY fundraiser. Come hungry, leave happy!

Passover
Save the date! We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an interactive adventure for Passover this year! Join us for The Great Afikomen Hunt on Sunday, April 2—a mystery scavenger hunt that will take our explorers through time and history as they follow the clues around TBE as teams. They will learn about history, culture, food, stories, and games at this amazing event!

Beth El Temple Youth
Beth El Temple Youth is a group of students ages 11–18 who are a part of the TBE community. We offer an array of unique events and learning opportunities for them to learn new skills, culture and explore their Jewish identity as they grow. Here’s a look at upcoming BETY Events:

l Thursday, March 2: BETY Hamantaschen Bake

l Saturday, March 4: Shul-In Sleepover

l Sunday, March 5: Hamantaschen Sale at Purim Carnival

l Friday, March 31: NFTY-NW Spring Kallah

Camping
Taste of Kalsman—March 17–18, 2023. Camp Kalsman is holding a one-night overnight for campers who are looking to try camp for the first time and will get a taste of all the fun things they do at camp. It is open to all 1st–4th graders. If families are in need, there are scholarships available! Parents can register at www.campkalsman.org. Please feel free to have families reach out to Jessica at JSBrumer@urj.org or Eian Snyder at ESnyder@urj.org.

NFTY-NW Spring Kallah
Next month, March 31–April 2, NFTY is holding a two-night retreat at Camp Kalsman for all Jewish teens in 8th–12th graders. They are having bus transportation out of Tacoma and would absolutely love it if we could get some TBE teens there this year. Special Thank You!

A major part of our programming and event success is due to those members of our community who share their time and skills with our kids. This year’s Tu BiSh’vat Celebration was so much fun thanks to: Robyn Anderson, Toni Brock Levi, Jacob Elstein, Olivia Goodwin, Jodi Herchold, Dan Miller, Mazriel Pimentel Diaz, Eli Reisberg, Peter Selkin, and our Religious Education Committee.
