What a fun month we have had! Everyone returned fresh from winter break, filled with ideas, lots of laughs and energy, energy, energy! We took advantage of that energy in Hebrew school with some fun matching games that sent our students racing around the halls, matching Hebrew letters and sounding them out for points. Incorporating Hebrew into drawing, music and games is a great way to get everyone engaged.

Gaga for Gaga!
Gaga is a form of dodgeball that originated in Israel in the 1970s and spread when Israeli counselors brought the game to summer camps around the world. Temple Beth El has its own octagon “pit” for games. We have been teaching students the game during their breaks and they are ready to play! This summer, we will be hosting a gaga tournament in June, so stay tuned.

Defining Courage in the Classroom
Our K–2 learners have been discussing courage and the places they see it in their everyday lives. Some shared examples of how they were brave in decision making and when faced with challenging situations. Their curiosity and wonder make it easy to appreciate the simple things adults can sometimes forget. Let’s celebrate bravery and continue talking about their lessons in the car after class when it is fresh on their minds.

Purim Carnival and M’gillah Reading
Love the costumes? Carnival games? Hamantaschen? So do we! Purim is a time of learning and fun for all ages. Our annual Purim Carnival and Costume Parade will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
