CO-OP PRE-SCHOOL
For our littlest learners, our co-op preschool gives growing and expanding Jewish minds the opportunity to explore the Jewish world with their parents through play, song, stories, art, and other projects. Co-op preschool takes place on Sundays from 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
SUNDAY SCHOOL, HEBREW SCHOOL & HEBREW HIGH
Our Sunday school program, for kindergarten–7th grade students, is held on Sundays from 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Hebrew school is held on Wednesdays and is a requirement for our 3rd–7th graders with students attending both Sunday school and Hebrew school. Beginner Hebrew 1 and Intermediate Hebrew run from 4:30–5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and Beginner Hebrew 2 runs from 5:30–6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Starting in 8th grade, students transition to Hebrew High, which is held on Sundays, from 12:30–1:30 p.m.
REGISTRATION
Registration for Religious School 2024-2025 opens July 1, and we encourage families to register as early as possible. If you register before August 1, you’ll receive a $50 early-bird discount. Classes begin on September 8. Registration can be completed here. If you have any problems accessing the registration page or your member portal, contact Olivia Goodwin at olivia@tbetacoma.org. If you have any questions about registration or the religious school, please contact Rabbi Gorban at rabbigorban@tbetacoma.org.
When registering, you will have the option of paying in full or selecting a payment plan. If you choose a payment plan, the first payment will collected at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Financial aid scholarships are available for member families to lower the financial barriers to attending religious school. You may check the box on the registration form and an application and instructions will be sent to you. You may also reach out directly to Dan Miller by email at scholarship@tbetacoma.org.
ONLINE JEWISH LEARNING
To provide flexibility in scheduling, students who are unavailable to attend on Sunday and/or Wednesday can explore Online Jewish Learning, which is small-group virtual learning that is flexible to your family’s schedule. You select the date and time and coordinate your class sessions. Additional information is available upon request.
YOUTH GROUP
We encourage students between the ages of 11-18 to join our vibrant Beth El Temple Youth (BETY) group. BETY offers meaningful Jewish opportunities for socializing and leadership, field trips, participating in social action and community, and having fun. We host bi-weekly meetings and events. Membership in Temple Beth El is not a requirement for joining. We are affiliated with BBYO Evergreen Chapter. For more information about the Beth El Temple Youth group, please contact our Youth Advisor, Moshe Shepherd at youthadvisor@tbetacoma.org. Sign up here: https://forms.gle/3nZdW6Njwbcb3fYs6.
