Description: In this workshop and discussion, we will listen, strategize, troubleshoot concerns, and celebrate successes. Guided by an Executive Function coach and educator with two decades of classroom experience, primarily serving neurodiverse students, participants will have a chance to process, plan, and experiment in a supportive space. The class will also discuss Jewish stories and inspirations on parenting through a neurodiversity lens. Topics of the class will be determined by the group’s interests and needs, but participants can anticipate discussions of emotional regulation techniques, executive function strategies, anticipating needs, independence, curiosity, camouflaging/masking/code-switching, identity formation, self-advocacy, and parent-driven advocacy. Parenting is a challenge, and resources for parenting neurodivergent children and teens can be difficult to navigate. This will be a space to grow and learn as parents and caregivers in a Jewish space.
