Happy fall everyone!
Here is my annual November “Thanks” acrostic. Every year I sit and think about what I’m thankful for in my life and what I behold around me in nature, in my congregation, and in the world. In this time of COVID, I am even more aware of God’s precious gifts to us all.
Try creating your own acrostic of thanks this year. Your thoughts might surprise you...
Taking stock of why I was put on this earth and what I can offer in my lifetime
Holding someone once again
Assuming nothing about someone else
Noticing and learning to pay attention to the little miracles hidden in plain sight
Keeping music, that universal language, alive
Yearning for more peace and unity as a United States
Owning up to faults and failings and finding different approaches the next time
Understanding and learning something new each day and reveling in it
Grieving for millions of people who have died of COVID and all their loved ones
Opening doors and inviting people to walk through
Deferring only to specialists for COVID information and understanding
Finding space to write music dedicated to my community
Operating at 100%, even if it’s 100% of 10%
Recognizing we adapt all the time and that this gift is one of our most precious
